We understand that your privacy is important to you. This policy describes the steps Lights Out Santa Barbara (LOSB) has taken to protect your privacy and information in connection with lightsoutsb.org (“the Site”).
If for any reason you do not agree to any of the terms of this privacy policy, do not provide LOSB with any information and discontinue your use of the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an updated version of the privacy policy has been posted signifies your acceptance of the changes and of the terms in their entirety for any information gathered or confirmed after the date of the change.
Providing us with your personal information (PI), such as name and email addresses in order to pledge your support of LOSB event or sign up for email updates, is voluntary and you may choose not to provide us with certain information. In order to pledge your support to turn your lights out on the night of our event October 20, we ask that you provide PI such as your name and email address volunteered by you through the Site. Collected information, including PI, may be used by LOSB for internal purposes only.
LOSB will not share or sell your PI to any third party. LOSB may disclose any information you have provided if it is required to do so by law or pursuant to a request by law enforcement. We also reserve the right to disclose information, including PI, if we have a good faith belief that disclosure is necessary to comply with the law or with the legal process; to protect the rights or property of Event Organizers, sponsors, their directors, officers, staff, or volunteers, or other third parties; or to act in an emergency to protect the safety or legal rights (know as "Mandatory Disclosures") of other individuals or organizations. LOSB may change its name or form of entity at some time in the future if circumstances so dictate. If this occurs, PI may be transferred to a new entity. However, we will not sell or transfer PI, except subject to the terms of our privacy policy as set forth herein. Aggregated information that we have collected may be provided to third parties, including partners, affiliates, and advertisers, but this information will not be associated with any PI before it is disclosed, unless LOSB has obtained your consent.
To facilitate your usage of the Site and to learn about how we can improve the Site, LOSB may collect technology-related information. Such "Technology Information" may include, but is not limited to: your IP address, domain, dates and times of your visits and what pages you visited. "Cookies" may be stored in your Web browser for record-keeping purposes and to help us provide better service by customizing the response of the Site to each user. Your browser has options to accept, reject or alert you when a cookie is received. LOSB may set and access cookies on your computer, if your browser settings so allow us. Cookies may be used for a variety of purposes, including saving your password so you do not have to re-enter it each time you visit our site from the same computer. Advertisers or other companies do not have access to LOSB's cookies. LOSB has no control over the information collected from or about you by any third party after you leave the Site. By clicking on links to other websites, including our partners, sponsors, advertisers and other third parties, you are leaving the Site. Once you have left the Site, LOSB does not control the data collection and privacy practices, or any other activities, of any third party linked to this Site. The Event Organizers assume no liability and are not responsible for any policies or practices of third party websites.
LOSB respects the privacy of children, and does not intentionally collect any personal information from them. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 years of age and believe that he or she has disclosed PI to us, please contact us at the following e-mail address: info (at) lightsoutsb.org.
In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we are a general audience site and do not intend to collect any PI from children under 13 years of age. Some of the content on the site may not be appropriate for all ages and parental supervision is recommended.
